2007 Battle of the Bands Competition

Get ready for some excitement! Rockford Public Library is hosting its second annual Battle of the Bands, a music competition for bands with members ages 14-21, Sunday, October 21, 2007.

The first-time battle of the bands event was held last July and eight bands competed for cash and prizes. Scores were tallied from a panel of judges and audience votes.

"Some people think the library is for young kids or older people," says Kathi Kresol, a Youth Services Library Assistant. "We're trying to point out to them that we've got something for everybody. We're not just for homework anymore."

So get your friends together and plan to attend the Battle of the Bands!
